This compact chess set is shaped, carved, and finished entirely by hand, preserving the warm tones and rich grain patterns that make olive wood one of the most prized materials in fine craftsmanship.

• Board size: approx. 20 × 20 cm

• Square size: approx. 2 × 2 cm

• Total height with pieces: approx. 6–7 cm

• Integrated drawer: sized to store all chess pieces

• Piece height: Pawns approx. 3–3.5 cm, King/Queen approx. 4.5–5 cm

Materials

• Board frame: Solid olive wood, sculpted to maintain its natural flowing contours

• Chessboard squares: Alternating tones created using natural variations within olive wood

• Chess pieces: Hand-turned in olive wood (light set) and walnut (dark set)

Each piece is shaped individually on the lathe, giving every pawn, rook, bishop, knight, queen, and king a subtle, unique character.

Finish

The chessboard is completed using a traditional French-polish shellac finish, applied entirely by hand with a polishing pad.
